Direct links from this question to the instruction manual for human and synthetic hair care instruction. Also remember to ask your stylist that did your extensions for hair care instructions, because depending on the method of hair extensions that was used, you hair care instructions will differ.

How much hair comes in a bag?
All packages of hair will be approximately 4oz of hair.

How many bags of hair do you need for hair extensions?
It all depends of the method of hair extensions that you are doing. Whenever you are getting your hair done you must ask your stylist how many bags of hair you need. Your stylist will be the best person to answer this question.

What is Remi Hair?
Remi is a process in which the hair is carefully selected and then aligned in the same direction, just like your hair would grow naturally. With this process there is less tangling and matting allowing it to be a higher quality of hair compared to standard hair extensions.

What are hair extensions? What methods of hair extensions are there?
 a) It is a method of attaching hair to your natural hair for the purpose of length, volume or color.
b) There are many methods of hair extensions out there. When considering getting your hair done you should speak to your stylist on the different types of hair extensions. Your stylist should be able to recommend the best method for you based on your hair and your expectations.

What products should I use on my extensions?
For synthetics hair extensions you can find products specialty made for synthetic hair extensions. For Human extensions you will want to make sure that you use products that keep and add moisture to the hair, remember that hair is no longer attached to a head so it does not get moisture they way it used to. You want to make sure you use a moisturizing shampoo as well as conditioning treatments and leave in conditioner. I recommend tying your hair up at night with a silk or satin scarf, if you do not want to tie your hair up you can use silk or satin pillowcases instead; cotton can dry out your hair extensions. When adding heat to your hair, use any heat protectant products. Many people think hair extensions are easy and that you wake up with beautiful hair but they are very wrong, hair extensions take extra time and effort but with this extra care your hair will last longer and look beautiful.

Can I use appliances (curling iron, flat iron) on my extensions?
When dealing with human hair extensions, it is fine to use hair appliances on the hair but you will want to use a heat protecting spray or serum to help protect the hair. On certain Synthetic hair you can add heat but make sure to check to label to see if you can add heat and up to what temperature.

Can I wash my hair extensions?
Yes you can wash you hair extensions but you want to make sure that you are very careful and gentle so that they do not get tangled while washing them. Speak to who ever did your extensions and ask them how they would recommend washing your extensions or refer to our hair care instructions.

Will hair extensions damage my hair?
No, hair extensions should not damage your hair as long as you take care of them and yournatural hair, as long as they are put in properly and as long as your hair was in healthy enough condition before the extensions were attached. When you go to the stylist to get your extensions they should be able tell you if your hair is in good enough condition to be able to have hair extensions.

How do I match my hair to the extensions?
The best way to match your extensions to your hair color is to match the extensions with your hair in person. If you are unable to come in person you can either ask a hairdresser to tell you what level (universal salon level and universal extension level) your hair is or try to match your hair based on the color charts we have provided. Remember if you are planning to dye your hair, dye your hair before buying extensions, that way you can make sure to get a perfect or almost perfect match.

How do I take care of my synthetic wigs or hairpieces?
a)     Swish gently with mild shampoo in cold or lukewarm water.
b)     Rinses thoroughly then lightly squeeze hair in cold water, making sure not to rub hair.
c)      After towel blot, shake out and drip dry. Do not comb wet.
d)     After the hair is completely dry, comb into desired style using a wide-tooth comb or finger styling only.
e)     Starting at the bottom, gently comb the hair using a downward motion, using a wide-tooth comb or finger styling, gradually moving up until you have combed all the hair. Never being combing at the top or middle, it will damage and tangle the hair.
f)      Gently de-tangle hair with a wide toothcomb every time you wear your wig.
g)     Do not use curling irons or curling kits. The hair can burn or lose its shape.
h)     No setting is necessary. Curls will snap back into place when hair is completely set.
i)       Longhair wigs or hairpieces should be braided in a few sections for sleeping or swimming to prevent tangling of the hair.
j)       Do not sleep on wet hair, it will matt and tangle up.
k)      Do not spray or put heavy pomade on synthetics wigs or hairpieces. This will make it dull and matt the hair

It is good to use products made foe synthetic wigs or hairpieces to keep you hair in good condition. The use of a mannequin head or wig stand will help keep your wig keep its form and shape. When you are not using your ponytail you can either hang it up or place it neatly back into the package.
